My Review

Fantastic entertainment awaits the movie-going public this summer in “Wonder Woman.” Director Patty Jenkins (“Monster” 2003) and screenwriter Allan Heinberg have created a great action-adventure film around the DC Comic book character by William Moulton Marston.

Israeli actress Gal Gadot perfectly fits the bill as the Amazonian woman who seeks to use her superpowers to help people caught up in World War I. Gadot had played Wonder Woman in last year’s “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” She will also be featured as one of many superheroes in “Justice League” to be released later this year.

Gal Gadot has good chemistry with co-star Chris Pine, who plays a U. S. Army Air Service officer. Fine performances by both actors. Robin Wright is good as Gadot’s aunt and mentor, and Danny Huston convincingly portrays a diabolical German general. The supporting cast also includes Connie Nielson, David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, and Lucy Davis in the very watchable “Wonder Woman.” The picture made nearly one billion dollars in general release, a financial wonder for Warner Bros. Pictures, the fourth installment of the DC Extended Universe.
