My Review

“Willow” is a story developed by George Lucas that director Ron Howard (“Cocoon” 1985) brought to the big screen. The story follows a dwarf, played by Warwick Davis, who protects an infant from an evil queen. Top notch direction by Howard and a great screenplay by Bob Dolman make this a very watchable motion picture.

The supporting cast includes Val Kilmer, Joanne Whalley, Billy Barty, Patricia Hayes, Pat Roach, Kevin Pollack, Rick Overton, Jack Purvis, Kenny Baker (well-known portraying George Lucas pal R2-D2), and Jean Marsh as the wicked Queen Bavmorda of Nockmaar. The very entertaining “Willow” was very successful in theatrical release for executive producer George Lucas, Lucasfilm Ltd., Imagine Entertainment, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
