My Review

“War of the Satellites” is a science fiction film telling the story of an alien force that declares war on Earth when the United Nations ignores its warnings against deploying humanity’s first satellites in the atmosphere. They feel the human race would contaminate the universe. Famed B-movie director Roger Corman has his finger prints all over this one: Low budget, good writing, some comedy, and scenes which cater to the prurient interests of moviegoers.

The cast includes Dick Miller, Susan Cabot, Richard Devon, Eric Sinclair, Michael Fox, Robert Shayne, Jerry Barclay, and John Brinkley as an extra crew member on the space craft. Lawrence Goldman penned the respectable script, based on a story by Jack Rabin and Irvin Block. “War of the Satellites” earned a modest income at the box office for producer Roger Corman, Santa Cruz Productions, and Allied Artists. It played in a double feature (usually at Saturday matinees) with “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.”
