My Review

“Unstoppable” is a disaster thriller film about a huge unmanned locomotive out of control on railroad tracks in urban Pennsylvania, loaded with toxic chemicals which would cause an environmental disaster and massive loss of human life if derailed. The only hope of stopping the train is in the hands of a veteran engineer and a young conductor. Director Tony Scott (“Top Gun” 1986) put together a riveting thriller that had few dull moments, from a lean script by Mark Bomback.

The stars include Denzel Washington as the engineer, Chris Pine as the conductor, Rosario Dawson, Kevin Dunn, Ethan Supplee, Kevin Corrigan, Lew Temple, T. J. Miller, and Jessy Schram. The very watchable and entertaining “Unstoppable” was successful at the box office for producers Tony Scott and Mimi Rogers, Dune Entertainment, Scott Free Productions, Prospect Park, Millbrook Farm Productions, and 20th Century Fox. This was the final movie Tony Scott directed before his death in 2012.
