My Review

“Unbroken: Path to Redemption” continues the story of Louis Zamperini that began in the 2014 film “Unbroken.” Producer Matthew Baer (of the first “Unbroken”) and director Harold Cronk (“God’s Not Dead” 2014) instilled this sequel with outstanding production values including period sets and costumes, good acting, and a crisp screenplay by Richard Friedenberg and Ken Hixon.

The story of Zamperini, an Olympic Gold Medalist and World War II veteran depicted in the first film, moves on to his post-war experiences including his and his wife’s conversion to Christianity at Billy Graham’s maiden crusade in 1949 Los Angeles. It also deals with how readjusts to civilian life.

Samuel Hunt and Merritt Patterson deliver excellent performances as Zamperini and his wife. The cast also includes Vincenzo Amato, Bobby Campo, Bob Gunton, David DeLuise, David Sakurai, Gary Cole, and evangelist Will Graham as his grandfather Billy Graham.

“Unbroken: Path to Redemption” is a very watchable faith based film from Pure Flix Entertainment.
