My Review

Ronald Reagan and Rhonda Fleming star in “Tropic Zone,” where he plays a Central American banana plantation foreman helping to protect his boss lady against land grabbers. The somewhat predictable but wildly entertaining B-movie was well directed and written by Lewis R. Foster (“Hong Kong” 1952).

Co-stars include Noah Beery Jr., Estelita Rodriguez, Grant Withers, John Wengraf, Argentina Brunetti, and Maurice Jara. “Tropic Zone” was adapted from Tom Gill’s 1939 novel “Gentlemen of the Jungle,” produced by William H. Pine and William C. Thomas for Paramount Pictures.

This film was one of four that Ronald Reagan and Rhonda Fleming appeared in together. They are “The Last Outpost” (1951), “Hong Kong” (1952), “Tropic Zone” (1953), and “Tennessee’s Partner” (1955).
