Jason Statham returns as deliveryman Frank Martin in “Transporter 3.” This time Frank is transporting Valentina, the problematic daughter of a Ukrainian official. He must prevent her from wandering too far away from his car, or risk triggering the explosive shackles they both wear. The film is expertly directed by Olivier Megaton (“Columbiana” 2011) from a tight script by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen.
Jason’s fellow cast members include Natalya Rudakova as Valentina, Francois Berleand returning for a third time as Inspector Tarconi, Robert Knepper as Jonas, and Semmy Schilt as the giant. This watchable third film in the series is loaded with action sequences, and not as original in the storyline department as its two predecessors. However, “Transporter 3” was a huge hit at the box office for producer Luc Besson, EuropaCorp, TF1 Films Productions, Canal+, and CineCinema. The fourth movie in the franchise would be “The Transporter Refueled” (2015) sans Statham, starring Ed Skrein.
