My Review

Director Michael Bay has completed his fifth film in the Hasbro “Transformers” movie series called “Transformers: The Last Knight.” The exciting, fast moving, and complex action-adventure science fiction film has been met with horrible reviews from critics and with enthusiasm from the general public at the box office.

Mark Wahlberg reprised his role as Cade Yeager from 2014. Josh Duhamel and John Turturro returned from the first three pictures. Co-stars include some familiar faces like Laura Hancock, Isabela Moner, Jerrod Carmichael, Santiago Cabrera, Liam Garrigan, Mitch Pileggi, Tony Hale, Gil Birmingham, and Glenn Morshower also returning as General Morshower. Stanley Tucci was in the 2014 project, and returned here in a different part, this time as the Wizard Merlin. Distinguished thespian Anthony Hopkins joined the film this go-around. Voice actors include John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, and Ken Watanabe.

The wonderful screenplay was written by Art Maccum, Ken Nolan, and Matt Holloway. Special effects were also one of the stars of the very watchable “Transformers: The Last Knight.” Nothing succeeds like success, with another sequel planned for next year from Hasbro Studios and Paramount Pictures, the first four “Transformers” released in 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2014.
