My Review

Walt Disney Pictures has produced a dud of a motion picture in “Tomorrowland.” Despite being filled with some good special effects and purported excitement, the film is bogged down with uneven storytelling and a muddled and meandering plot. Apparently producer-director-screenwriter Brad Bird (“Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” 2011) could not focus on what story he wanted to tell. He co-wrote the screenplay with Damon Lindelof.

Star George Clooney seems to be the mascot for mediocrity in this project. He at least showed up for work, no doubt receiving top dollar from Disney. The rest of the cast also appeared to be doing little more than reciting Bird’s and Lindelof’s lines. They include Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, Chris Bauer, Pierce Gagnon, Thomas Robinson, and Judy Greer.

The unwatchable “Tomorrowland” was a box office failure for Walt Disney Pictures.
