Angelina Jolie heads a cast as a firefighter who helps a boy on the run from hitmen who murdered his father in “Those Who Wished Me Dead.” This movie has the tone and feel of a traditional studio film from the 1940’s or 1950’s, and is well written and directed.
Director Taylor Sheridan (TV series” Yellowstone”) kept a tight reign on the action-filled plot. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Koryta and Charles Leavitt, adapted from Koryta’s 2014 novel of the same name.
Finn Little is a talented young actor displaying good chemistry with the veteran Jolie. He more than holds his own with the film veteran. Others performers include Aidan Gillen and Nicholas Hoult as the assassins, Jon Bernthal and Medina Senghore as the sheriff and his wife, Jake Weber, James Jordan, Tory Kittles, and Tyler Perry in a cameo appearance as the crime boss.
“Those Who Wish Me Dead” is a very watchable movie from New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures.
