My Review

The third time is a charm in the Thor movie series with “Thor: Ragnarok.” This sequel to “Thor” (2011) and “Thor: The Dark World” (2013) is definitely the best of the lot with a marvelous screenplay, plenteous humor, loads of action, and outstanding performances. Kudos to director Taika Waititi and writers Eric Pearson, Craig Kyle, and Christopher Yost.

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston registered their best offerings of the series as the brothers Thor and Loki, respectively. Also worth noting are jobs well done by the two heavies of the piece, Cate Blanchett as Thor and Loki’s older sister Hela, and Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, ruler of the planet Sakaar. Others include Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Karl Urban as Skurge, Tessa Thompson as Vakyric. Smaller roles include Zachary Levi, Ray Stevenson, and Tadanobu Asano as the Warrior Three, Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, as well as Idris Elba, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth, and Matt Damon.

All part of the fun and games in the very watchable “Thor: Ragnarok,” the seventeenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe from producer Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios, and Walt Disney Pictures.
