My Review

Producer-director-screenwriter Emilio Estevez (“Bobby” 2006) put together the story of an American who travels to France to recover the body of his son who dies while traveling the Camino de Santiago, a Roman Catholic pilgrimage route in northern Spain. He ends up doing the pilgrimage himself.

Martin Sheen (Estevez’s father) stars in the lead role, employing his usual personable and sincere style of acting that made him popular on television’s “The West Wing” (1999-2006). Co-stars include James Nesbitt, Deborah Kara Unger, Yorick van Wageningen, Tcheky Karyo, and Emilio Estevez in a small part as Sheen’s son. “The Way” from Filmax and Elixir Films made almost no profit at the box office.
