“The Vanished” is a psychological thriller movie about a couple whose ten-year-old daughter disappears while they are on a camping trip. Although this is a story we have already seen in films, director-screenwriter Peter Facinelli keeps the story realistic enough to maintain suspense throughout the nearly two hour duration of the picture.
He is also part of the cast, listed in fourth place as a deputy sheriff. The stars of the show are Thomas Jane and Anne Heche as the parents and Jason Patric as the sheriff. Other actors include Aleksei Archer, Kristopher Wente, John D. Hickman, Alex Hayden, and Sadie & K. K. Heim playing the missing daughter. The entire cast delivers marvelous performances; not a slouch in the bunch.
“The Vanished” did not make money at the box office, being released only to select theaters in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic in August, 2020. This watchable film was produced by Ingenious Media, SSS Entertainment, The Exchange, and Saban Films.
