My Review

The Hallmark Channel presents “The Ultimate Legacy,” a film about a young man who must take on responsibility before he can receive his inheritance from his grandmother’s estate. Director Joanne Hock (“Redneck Roots” 2011) put together this solid motion picture with an excellent teleplay written by Rick Eldridge, Jimmy Hager, Jackie Randell, and Jim Stovall.

The star is Myko Olivier, who handles the leading role well, delivering a good performance. The supporting cast is loaded with celebrities including Raquel Welch, Doug Jones, Lee Meriwether, Bill Cobbs, Brian Dennehy, Ali Hills, Kurt Yaeger, Logan Bartholomew, Beau Davidson, and Kim Baptiste. This one of the final roles for both Dennehy and Welch, who passed in 2020 and 2023, respectively.

“The Ultimate Legacy” was the third in a series of made-for-television movies following “The Ultimate Gift” (2006) and “The Ultimate LIfe” (2013). It aired on the Hallmark Channel in December, 2015.
