My Review

“The Transporter” is an action-adventure film about an English mercenary driver living in France who always delivers anything, on time, no questions asked, and never opens the package. This time, however, he did open the box and inside was a bound and gagged woman. So the plot thickens as he becomes involved with a human trafficking group. Directors Louis Lettierier (France) and Corey Yuen (China) put together an engrossing motion picture with numerous action sequences, good acting, and excellent writing by screenwriters Luc Besson (France) and Robert Mark Kamen (America).

The star of the show is Jason Stratham in the title role of Frank Martin the transporter. He delivers the goods in a part that is his signature type of character. Co-stars include Shu Qi, Francois Berleand, Matt Schultze, Ric Young, Doug Rand, and Adrian Dearnell as the newscaster. The watchable fun-fest “The Transporter” was a modest hit at the box office for producer Luc Besson, EuropaCorp, Canal+, TF1 Films Production, and 20th Century Fox. Sequels were released in 2005 and 2008, with a reboot in 2015.
