“The Shift” is a science fiction thriller movie about a man who loses his wife and child and is moved from one parallel universe to another, seemingly under the diabolical hand of someone called “The Benefactor.” It soon becomes clear what is happening, due to good direction by Brock Heasley, who also produced and wrote the absorbing screenplay.
The cast turns out some good performances, including Kristoffer Polaha in the lead role, Neal McDonough as The Benefactor, and Sean Astin, the son of John Astin and Patty Duke, as Gabriel. Co-stars include Elizabeth Tabish, Jason Marsden, Emily Rose, Nolan North, Paras Patel, and and John Billingsley, most famous for his role as Dr. Phlox on television’s “Star Trek: Enterprise” (2001-2005).
The watchable movie “The Shift” is in general release at the theaters from Pinnacle Peak Pictures, Nook Lane Entertainment, Salt Shaker Media, and Angel Studios.
