My Review

“The International” is a spellbinding political thriller set in Europe’s financial sector. Clive Owen and Naomi Watts play an Interpol agent and a New York City ADA, respectively, who investigate alleged corruption within a fictional big bank based in Luxembourg. They soon find out that their lives are in danger.

German director Tom Tykwer (“Heaven” 2002) efficiently uses every minute of the two hour film for non-stop action, from a tight screenplay by Eric Warren Singer. There is not a dull moment in “The International,” a box office bomb from Columbia Pictures, which also co-starred Armin Mueller-Stahl, Brian F. O’Byrne, Ulrich Thompsen, Michel Voletti, Patrick Baladi, Jay Villiers, Luca Barbareschi, among other.
