My Review

“The Huntsman: Winter’s War” is a sloppily made sequel to 2012’s “Snow White and the Huntsman.” The lack of focus by first-time director Cedric Nicolas-Troyan and screenwriters Evan Spiliotopoulos and Craig Mazin cost Universal Pictures at the box office, as movie-goers stayed away from this boring bomb.

The culprit may be the variety of sources for this project, which includes stories by Hans Christian Anderson and the Brothers Grimm. Don’t fault the actors; they did their jobs well enough, including Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, Nick Frost, San Clafin, Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, and Rob Brydon.

Even help from Liam Neeson as the narrator could not help Universal Pictures’ “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” from getting the cold shoulder from fans and critics alike.
