“The Front” is the story of a police detective in a Boston suburb assigned by his district attorney to reopen an old murder case, because of its similarity to current crimes being committed. As a result, his life is thrown into great peril. Director Tom McLoughlin has turned out an average made-for-television movie that is good fare for the Lifetime Channel.
The teleplay was well-written by John Pielmeier, helping out the cast which includes Andie MacDowell, Daniel Sunjata, Ashley Williams, Diahann Carroll, Dane DeHaan, Zak Santiago, and Patricia Cornwell, author of the 2008 novel “The Front” from which this 2010 Lifetime Channel movie was adapted.
