My Review

“The Forge” is a faith-based drama film about a young man who has no plans for his future one year after graduating from high school. He is challenged by his mother and a mentor to make better decisions for his life. Director Alex Kendrick (“Courageous” 2011) created a high quality film that has good production values, great acting, and a relevant story to today’s youth. He wrote the brilliant screenplay with his brother and frequent collaborator, Stephen Kendrick.

The cast includes Aspen Kennedy, Priscilla Shirer, Cameron Arnett, T. C. Stallings, B. J. Arnett, Ken Bevel, Benjamin Watson, Jonathan Evans, Jerry Shirer, Tommy Woodward, Marianne Haaland, and Karen Abercrombie reprising her role as Miss Clara Williams, the intercessor and prayer warrior from “War Room” (2015).

The very watchable “The Forge” has done well at the box office for producer Stephen Kendrick, Affirm Films, Provident Films, Kendrick Brothers, and Sony Pictures Releasing.
