“The Five People You Meet in Heaven” is a made-for-television movie about an amusement park mechanic killed in an accident and then goes to Heaven, meeting five people who significantly affected his life on earth. It is based on the 2003 book by Mitch Albom, who also wrote the teleplay and served as executive producer of the film.
Jon Voight stars as Eddie the maintenance man, a role he fits in like a glove. Co-stars include Ellen Burstyn, Jeff Daniels, Michael Imperioli, Dagmar Dominczyk, and Steven Grayhm. Director Lloyd Kramer created a very smooth running film faithful to Albom’s book. “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” was broadcast on the Hallmark Channel in 2004.
