My Review

Don’t expect the movie “The Dukes of Hazzard” to be reminiscent of the television series that ran on CBS from 1979 to 1985. It contains large amounts of coarse humor, foul language, and drug use.

Director Jay Chandrasekhar (“Club Dread” 2004) and screenwriter John O’Brien have provided the actors with lame-brain and knuckleheaded material. Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott, who have made careers in low-brow comedies, fit Chandrasekhar’s version of Bo and Luke Duke here. Jessica Simpson has her acting debut as Daisy Duke giving the public a terrible performance, and if that weren’t enough, sang a horrible version of Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’.”

The supporting cast included some big names making fools out of themselves, such as Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg, Willlie Nelson as Uncle Jesse, and Lynda Carter, Joe Don Baker, David Koechner, M. C. Gainey, Michael Weston, Barry Corbin, Andrew Prine, and James Roday. The highly unwatchable “The Dukes of Hazzard” from Warner Bros. Pictures was easily the worst film of 2005.
