The fascinating story of a sceptical journalist whose journey from atheist to born again Christian was well documented in “The Case for Christ.” Director Jon Gunn (“Do You Believe?” 2015) and screenwriter Brian Bird did an outstanding job in adapting Lee Strobel’s 1998 autobiography of the same name to the big screen.
Actor Mike Vogel was more than convincing as Strobel, with a talented supporting cast that includes Erika Christensen, Robert Forster, Haley Rosenwasser, Grant Goodeve, Frankie Faison, and the legendary Faye Dunaway as Dr. Roberta Waters, a psychiatrist interviewed by Strobel.
“The Case for Christ” had some success at the box office, due to high quality production values from director Gunn and producer David A. R. White of Pure Flix Entertainment. It debuted at number ten on the opening weekend of April 7-9, 2017.
