My Review

Director Terry Gilliam (“Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” 1998) gives us a new version of “The Brothers Grimm,” billed as a tale of adventure about Jake and Will Grimm. In reality, Gilliam and screenwriter Ehren Kruger have put together a film with lots of activity and frenetic energy that takes the audience nowhere. Viewers get bogged down in the muddled plot and storyline.

Actors Matt Damon and Heath Ledger as the Grimms come across as just plain boring. The same with the supporting cast: Peter Stormare, Lena Headey, Jonathan Pryce, Monica Bellucci, Roger Ashton-Griffiths, Julian Bleach, Tomas Hanak, Mackenzie Crook, Richard Ridings, and Anna Rust as Sister Grimm.

The unwatchable “The Brothers Grimm” is less than enchanting and barely broke even at the box office for Mosaic Media Group, Atlas Entertainment, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
