My Review

“The Bourne Legacy” is an exciting espionage thriller, the fourth installment in the Jason Bourne series (2002, 2004, 2007) that does not feature Matt Damon as Bourne, who did not want to return due to a change in directors. This director, Tony Gilroy (“Michael Clayton” 2007), has Jeremy Renner playing agent Aaron Cross, who must flee for his life when the military program he is involved in is terminated and all of the agents are to be executed.

Tony Gilroy co-wrote the high-quality screenplay with Dan Gilroy, and did a good job at the helm of this exciting movie with good performances by the actors. They include Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton. Stacy Keach, Oscar Isaac, Joan Allen, Albert Finney, David Strathairn, Scott Glenn, Donna Murphy, Corey Stoll, and Elizabeth Marvel.

“The Bourne Legacy” was successful in theatrical release for Kennedy/Marshall and Universal Pictures. Producer Frank Kennedy approved another in the series, with Matt Damon returning in “Jason Bourne” in 2016. This fifth movie is most likely the final in the Jason Bourne film franchise.
