My Review

“The Big Lebowski” is an off-beat comedy where Jeff Bridges plays a ne’er-do-well who is mistakenly mugged by people who think he is a millionaire of the same name. The wacky humor from such unusual situations was expertly written by brothers Ethan and Joel Coen, directed by Joel and produced by Ethan. The fun was consistent throughout the 117 minute picture.

Jeff Bridges was sharp from start to finish, dominating the movie almost in every scene. He did deserve an Oscar nomination. The talented supporting cast includes John Goodman, Julianne Moore, Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman, David Huddleston, Tara Reid, Philip Moon, Mark Pellegrino, John Turturro, Ben Gazzara, and Sam Elliot in this very watchable and successful independently produced motion picture called “The Big Lebowski.”
