My Review

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” is a holiday comedy-drama film about six juvenile delinquent siblings who somehow find themselves starring in their small town’s Christmas pageant. They teach a shocked community something or two about the true meaning of Christmas. Director Dallas Jenkins (“The Resurrection of Gavin Stone” 2017) put together a comedy-drama that at first appears a bit rough around the edges, but does have a good message at the heart of it all.

Screenwriters Ryan Swanson, Platte Clark, and Darin McDaniel do a fair job on communicating the storyline. It was adapted from the 1972 children’s novel of the same name by Barbara Robinson. The cast includes Judy Greer, Pete Holmes, Lauren Graham, Beatrice Schneider, Mason D. Nelligan, Matthew Lamb, Ewan Wood, Essek Moore, Kynlee Heiman, and Kirk B. R. Woller as the Reverend Hopkins.

The watchable holiday romp “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” is currently popular at the box office for Kingdom Story Company, Lumenas Studios, Media Capital Technologies, Fletchet Entertainment, and Lionsgate Films. It came in number three in the weekend domestic (U. S. A.) box office for Nov. 8, 2024, after “Venom: The Last Dance” and “Heretic.”
