“The 355” is a spy thriller about five international female spies who work together to stop some terrorists from starting World War III. This film from director Simon Kinberg (“Dark Phoenix” 2019) never really gets going due to unfocused direction and a screenplay that lacks clarity, penned by Theresa Rebeck and Kinberg.
The cast seemed to work hard to deliver good performances, maybe too hard, and they do seem excessively stressed, which includes Jessica Chastain, Penelope Cruz, Lupita Nyong’o, Diane Kruger, and Fan Bingbing as the five principals. Other actors include Sebastian Stan, Edgar Ramirez, John Douglas Thompson, Jason Flemyng, Sylvester Groth, Leo Staar, Jason Wong, and Emilia Insolera.
This unwatchable movie from Universal Pictures, “The 355,” has been a complete and utter flop at the box office.
