My Review

Producer James Cameron and stars Arnold Schwarzeneggar and Linda Hamilton are reunited for the first time in twenty-eight years in “Terminator: Dark Fate.” This sixth installment in the “Terminator” series (after 1984, 1991, 2003, 2009, 2015) is a direct sequel to the first two.

Director Tim Miller (“Deadpool” 2016) gives the audience plenty of action scenes, but the screenplay by David Goyer, Justin Rhodes, and Billy Ray retells the old story with new actors, including Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, and Gabriel Luna, who are miscast in their new roles. A critical error by Cameron in this project was to kill off young John Connor in a flashback sequence.

Although a watchable and exciting movie due to well orchestrated action-adventure sequences, “Terminator: Dark Fate” is a rehash of old material that was a admittedly a success at the box office in the weekend of Nov. 1-3, 2019, for James Cameron and Paramount Pictures.
