“Taken 2” features Liam Neeson back as Brian Mills, this time on holiday with his family only to be kidnapped by the father of one of the men he killed in “Taken” (2008) when he saved his daughter. Director Olivier Megaton (“Columbiana” 2011) and screenwriters Luc Besson and Robert Marc Kamen did a good job at putting together this watchable film with good production values, although the case could be made that this is simply another version of the original.
The supporting cast includes Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen, D. B. Sweeney, Luke Grimes, Jon Gries, Leland Orser, Rade Serbedsija, Olivier Rabourdin, Kevork Malikyan, and Luenell as Kim’s driving instructor. “Taken 2” was quite a success in theatrical release for the French production companies involved, like Europe Corp, M6 Films, Canal+, Cine+, and Grive Productions.
