After a difficult day at work as a clerk in a gift shop, a young woman makes a Christmas wish for a different life in “Take Me Back for Christmas.” The next morning, she is delighted to wake up as the CEO of the company that owns the gift shop, but soon discovers that she is not married to her beloved husband. Director Corey Sevier and teleplay writer Kate Pragnell do an excellent job on this made-for-television movie with good writing and outstanding production values.
The stars of the show are Vanessa Lengies as the clerk and director Sevier as her husband. The big question of the film is whether or not they get back together. Both do quite well in these roles. Co-stars include Paula Boudreau, Brynn Godenir, Miguel Rivas, Gerry Mendicino, Moni Ogunsuyi, and Kimberly-Ann Truong as the Elf who grants Christmas wishes. There is a touch of “It’s a Wonderful Life” in this television film which aired on the Hallmark Channel on July 15, 2023. Guess it’s Christmas in July!
