My Review

“Strangers on a Train” is a psychological thriller film about two men who agree to murder two individuals who are causing the other person trouble. Or did they? Only director Alfred Hitchcock knows for sure, as well as screenwriters Raymond Chandler, Czenzi Ormonde, and Whitfield Cooke. Hitch certainly has the ability to keep viewers on the edge of their seats for the 101 minute running time.

Farley Granger and Robert Walker brilliantly play these two men under the skillful hand of Alfred Hitchcock, who knew how to bring out the best in his performers. The supporting cast includes Ruth Roman, Leo G. Carroll, Patricia Hitchcock, Laura Elliot, Marion Lorne, Jonathan Hale, and Howard St. John. The very watchable “Strangers on a Train” was popular for producer Alfred Hitchcock, Transatlantic Pictures, and Warner Bros. Pictures. The film was nominated for one Academy Award: Best Cinematography (Robert Burks).
