“Strange Weather” is director-screenwriter Katherine Dieckmann’s story of a woman who finds out that a young man stole her deceased son’s business plan, and turned it into a successful restaurant chain. She goes on a road trip with plans for revenge, but her scheme, like this motion picture, do not go as well as planned.
Dieckmann provided sloppy direction with a mediocre script. This Netflix production did not face the test of audiences in theatrical release, where it surely would have been a box office bomb. The cast of “Strange Weather” includes Holly Hunter, in the lead role, Carrie Coon, Kim Coates, Glenne Headly, Ransom Ashley, and Emily Peachey as the Dawg House receptionist.
