My Review

Producer-director Danny Boyle (“Slumdog Millionaire” 2008) has come out with a new movie about “Steve Jobs.” This basically unwatchable and unentertaining motion picture is simply a montage of boring speeches, monologues, and arguments Jobs has had with people over the years.

Michael Fassbender comes on strong as Steven Jobs, putting all of his energies and abilities into the role. Kate Winslet played his confidant Joanna Hoffman. Both Fassbender and Winslet were nominated for Academy Awards, for Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively. The supporting cast includes Seth Rogan, Jeff Daniels, Katherine Waterston, Michael Stuhlbarg, John Ortiz, and Sarah Snook, later well known as Siobhan Roy on television’s “Succession.”

The very sterile screenplay was penned by Aaron Sorkin, adapted from Walter Isaacson’s 2011 biography of the same name. All of this adds up to a box office bomb for Universal Pictures.
