My Review

Another reboot of the Spider-Man series has occurred in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, co-produced by Marvel Studios (part of the Walt Disney Company) and Columbia Pictures, owned by Sony Pictures, who handled the distribution chores. The results are a big hit with movie audiences, due to outstanding direction by Jon Watts (“Cop Car” 2015) and a charismatic big screen appearance by Tom Holland, the latest and third Spider-Man.

Holland captures the teenage vulnerability of young Peter Parker, who has to balance his homework and superhero duties. He is well advised by Tony Stark and Aunt May Parker, welcomed big screen appearances for both Robert Downey Jr. and the lovely Marisa Tomei. They seemed to have a flirtation going on until the cameo appearance at the end of the picture by Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, when she secures an engagement ring from Stark!

The supporting cast also includes Chris Evans and Kerry Condon (also in cameos as Captain America and Friday, respectively), Tyne Daly, Donald Glover, Jon Favreau, Laura Harrier, Garcelle Beauvais, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revelori, and Michael Keaton in a fantastic heavy role, the Vulture. Keaton almost stole the show from Holland.

All great fun in the very watchable “Spider-Man: Homecoming” produced by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige.
