My Review

“Skyscraper” is an action-adventure film about a former FBI agent and security specialist who must rescue his family from a Hong Kong skyscraper when terrorists set fire to the structure. Director-screenwriter Rawson Marshall Thurber (“We’re the Millers” 2013) filled the movie with loads of action sequences (especially from hundreds of stories in the air), good dialogue, wonderful performances, and outstanding production values to keep viewers following the film from start to finish.

The star of the show is Duane Johnson, now a major movie star who can carry the bulk of the action in a film like this one. And he does a good job performing the main character while interacting well with a supporting cast that includes Neve Campbell, Chin Han, Roland Moller, Roland Taylor, Byron Mann, Hannah Quinlivan, Pablo Schreiber, Tzi Ma, McKenna Roberts, Noah Cottrell, Adrian Holmes, Matt O’Leary, and Kevin Rankin.

The watchable escapist programming movie “Skyscraper” was successful in theatrical release for producers Rawson Marshall Thurber and Duane Johnson and Universal Pictures.
