“Shadow Force” is an action-adventure film about a couple who were once members of a special forces group until they broke the rules by falling in love and getting married. They are now on the run from their former employer, with the situation complicated by the need to provide for their young son. Director Joe Carnahan (“The A-Team” 2010) put together a conventional action-adventure thriller which is tightly written enough to keep the viewers’ attention for the 104 minute running time. Carnahan co-wrote the script with Leon Chills.
The stars of the show are Kerry Washington and Omar Sy as the fleeing couple. They have good chemistry here. Co-stars include Jaleel Kamara as their son, Mark Strong as their ex-boss, Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Kerry’s auntie, as well as Clifford “Method Man” Smith, Krondon, Natalia Reyes, Yoson An, Marvin Jones III, and Ed Quinn. The very watchable and exciting “Shadow Force” has been weak at the box office for producer Kerry Washington, Made With Love Media, Simpson Street, Indian Meadows Productions, and Lionsgate Films.
