The new “Robin Hood” is a horrid production, reinterpreting the old Anglo-Saxon hero with modern special effects and political correctness. British director Otto Bathurst and producers Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson created this turkey that audiences rejected at the box office. The lame screenplay was penned by Ben Chandler and David James Kelly.
The actors did their part with some acceptable performances. Taron Egerton earned a paycheck in the title role; this “Robin Hood” appearance presumably will not affect his career too adversely. Other stars include Jamie Foxx, Ben Mendelsohn, Eve Hewson, Tim Minchin, Jamie Dornan, and F. Murray Abraham.
One thing’s for sure: No sequel for this “Robin Hood” that has missed the mark.
