“River Wild” is an action-thriller film about a brother and sister who embark on a whitewater rafting trip with a childhood friend and some tourists. Things go smoothly until they discover that one of group is a killer, and they are trapped with this person in the vast wilderness. Director Ben Ketai keeps the film progressing on an even pace, holding viewer’s interest for 91 minutes, from a well written screenplay he penned with Mike Nguyen Le.
The cast is headed by Leighton Meester, Taran Killam, and Adam Brody, who was the star of the popular television program “The O. C.” (2003-2007). They are the core of the story, with good support from co-stars Olivia Swann, Eve Connolly, Matt Devere, Nick Whitman, Kiel Kennedy, and Courtney Chen as the EMT.
