My Review

“Red Dawn” is an action film that tells the story of a North Korean invasion of the U. S., centered on a group of young people in Spokane, Washington, who are determine to defend their community from the invaders. Director Don Bradley has a poorly executed film here with an inconsistent plot from a poorly written screenplay by Carl Ellsworth and Jeremy Passmore.

The cast seems sincere in their performances, which includes Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck, Josh Hutcherson, Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas, Connor Cruise, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Alyssa Diaz, Brett Cullen, Edwin Hodge, Will Yun Lee, Michael Beach, Matt Gerard, Kenneth Choi, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

“Red Dawn” is a remake of the 1984 movie of the same name from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, who sold this project to FilmDistrict due to MGM’s bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings. It was a financial failure at the box office.
