My Review

“Rawhide” is a western film about a stagecoach stop employee and a stranded woman passenger and her young niece held captive by four outlaws waiting to rob the next day’s gold shipment. This film is decent B-movie entertainment, crafted by director Henry Hathaway (“Down to the Sea in Ships” 1949) from a well written script by Dudley Nichols.

The stellar cast includes Tyrone Power, Susan Hayward, Edgar Buchanan, Hugh Marlowe, Dean Jagger, Jack Elam, George Tobias, Jeff Corey, James Millican, Louis Jean Heydt, and Judy Ann Dunn. This watchable black-and-white gem “Rawhide” was popular at the box office for 20th Century Fox.
