My Review
The fifth installment of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series is out in theaters. “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” has a less complicated storyline and easier-to-follow plot than the first four pictures, and is a stand-alone story as well.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer hired Johnny Depp to play the very popular Jack Sparrow once again, essential to the “Pirates” franchise. Depp delivered big time, with the film making loads of cash at the box office. Also returning are Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally, Orlando Blum, and Keira Knightley. Newcomers include Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, and Kaya Scodelario. The very famous Paul McCartney made a cameo appearance.
The story basically tells the tale of the search for the Trident of Poseidon, which will free Will Turner (Bloom) from being imprisoned forever on his ship. Stay tuned for lots of excitement, well directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberd, from a wonderful screenplay by Jeff Nathanson. The very watchable “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” is one of the top grossing movies of 2017, from Walt Disney Pictures.
