The film parodies numerous sci-fi movies, even featuring Steven Spielberg (in voice only) and Sigourney Weaver in a small part. Other cast includes Seth Rogan, Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Blythe Danner, John Carroll Lynch, Jan Lynch, Jeffrey Tambor, Nick Frost, and Simon Pegg. “Paul” was only a modest success at the box office for Universal Pictures.
