My Review

The third time is definitely a charm for Disneynature with the release of its newest documentary “Oceans.” This co-production with French filmmakers Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzand was filmed in fifty different locations in oceans around the world, and took four years to complete.

The one hour and twenty-four minutes of the movie looked at different varieties of marine life. Off of the coast of South Africa, groups of dolphins, sharks, and whales were filmed hunting a swarm of sardines. On an Australian beach, two massive groups of spider crabs are seemingly engaged in war.

Actor Pierce Brosnan adds his voice to the narration (Jacques Perrin in the French version) of the stunning visuals in “Oceans,” an interesting look at the oceans, which cover 75 percent of the earth’s surface. The documentary was a modest hit in theatrical release.
