My Review

“Notting Hill” is a romantic comedy about a London book store owner who becomes romantically involved with a famous American movie star. This film hits all the right notes that a rom-com should hit to be successful, such as good writing, tasteful comedy, and tip-top performances by classy big name actors. Roger Mitchell (“Morning Glory” 2010) tightly directed the movie from a well written script by Richard Curtis. This is a picture perfect project!

The stars of the show, Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, deliver in the performance department as everyone expects them to do. “Notting Hill” is one of the best films in both actors’ careers! Co-stars include Hugh Bonneville, Emma Chambers, James Dreyfus, Rhys Ifans, Tim McInnerny, Gina McKee, Mischa Barton, and uncredited cameos by Alec Baldwin, Simon Callow, and Matthew Modine. The very watchable “Notting Hill” was a big hit at the box office for PolyGram Filmed Entertainment, Working Title Films, and Universal Pictures.
