More Muppet mania is out in theaters this year in “Muppets Most Wanted.” Walt Disney Pictures has produced this eighth theatrical film featuring the Muppets, a direct sequel to “The Muppets” of 2011. Director James Bobin, who was director of the aforementioned 2011 picture, packed in loads of sight gags, corny jokes, catchy songs, and celebrity cameos that should satisfy fans of all ages.
Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, and Tina Fey join the Muppets in a storyline that is typical from what we expect from this crowd, due to a good screenplay by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller.
Appearances by celebs include Tony Bennett, Sean Combs, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, Zach Galifianakis, Josh Groban, Selma Hayek, Frank Langella, Ray Liotta, Usher Raymond, Stanley Tucci, Hugh Bonneville, et al. They all add to the watchable fun that is “Muppets Most Wanted,” a modest hit at the box office for Walt Disney Pictures.
