My Review

Blamed for a bombing of the Kremlin, Ethan Hunt and his IMF team are disavowed by the U. S. government and cut off from funding in “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.” They are forced off the grid and must still clear their name without resources or backup. Director Brad Bird (“Ratatouille” 2007) assembled the fourth “M:I” film with unbelievable action scenes, an exciting storyline, and good acting. The excellent screenplay was written by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. Filming took place in Dubai, India, Russia, Canada, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.

Excellent performances were delivered by the cast headed by Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Michael Nyqvist, Lea Seydoux, Josh Holloway. Cameo appearances were made by Tom Wilkinson as IMF Secretary, Michelle Monaghan as Ethan’s wife, and Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, the only other character beside Ethan to appear in all eight films. The very watchable “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” was a huge hit at the box office for producers J. J. Abrams and Tom Cruise, Skydance Productions, Bad Robot, TC Productions, and Paramount Pictures. The next in the series would be “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” in 2015.
