My Review

“Miracle Mile” is the story of two people living and working in Los Angeles when they find out that nuclear war is about to break out. Director-screenwriter Steve De Jarnatt put together this indy film that is very well written and gives good material for the actors to work. Anthony Edwards and Mare Winningham have trouble getting out of town when they find out about about the coming nuclear holocaust in the middle of the night. De Jarnatt has put together a superior apocalyptic thriller here.

The supporting cast includes John Agar, Mykelti Williamson, Kelly Jo Minter, Kurt Fuller, Brian Thompson, Alan Rosenberg, Earl Boen, Peter Berg, Janette Goldstein, and Denise Crosby, granddaughter of mega-star Bing Crosby, as Landa. The watchable “Miracle Mile,” named after the neighborhood along Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles, was a big flop at the box office for Miracle Mile Productions and Hemdale Film Corporation.
