My Review

Director Steven Spielberg (“Jurassic Park” 1993) has created an exciting science fiction action film called “Minority Report.” It is a futuristic story, set in 2054, where specialized police departments apprehend criminals before they commit a crime by use of foreknowledge from psychics. The well written screenplay by Scott Frank and Jon Cohen cause the 145 minute running time to move swiftly.

The cast delivers good performances, which includes Tom Cruise, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, Max von Sydow, Neal McDonough, Patrick Kilpatrick, Lois Smith, Kathryn Morris, Mike Bender, Steve Harris, Jessica Harper, Tim Blake Nelson, Daniel London, and Peter Stormare. Cameron Diaz and Cameron Crow make uncredited cameo appearances as subway passengers.

“Minority Report” was successful in theatrical release for Amblin Entertainment, DreamWorks Pictures, and 20th Century Fox. The film also contains another outstanding musical score from John Williams. And the film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Sound Editing.
