My Review

Plenty of laughs from some of filmdom’s top stars are in store for viewers of “Meet the Fockers.” Director Jay Roach (“Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” 1997) does a good job of orchestrating major Hollywood stars in their comedic roles, from the excellent screenplay by Jim Herzfeld and John Hamberg.

Robert De Niro and Blythe Danner play a wealthy & conservative couple whose daughter, played by Teri Polo, is engaged to Greg Focker (Ben Stiller). They decide it is time to meet Greg’s hippie parents, portrayed by Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand. The culture-clash hilarity proceeds from there.

The supporting cast includes Owen Wilson, Tim Blake Nelson, Cedric Yarbrough, Alanna Ubach, Ray Santiago, and the veteran comedian and actor Shelley Berman as Judge Ira. “Meet the Fockers” was a big hit in theatrical release for producers Jay Roach and Robert De Niro, Tribeca Productions, Everyman Pictures, and Universal Pictures. It was a sequel to “Meet the Parents” (2002), followed by another sequel “Little Fockers” in 2010.
